New iphone!

Switched out the old iPhone for the 16 gig version, the eight just wasn’t large enough. Videos a couple of pictures and 5 gig of music filled it up pretty quickly.

Iphone, and games

So I got my iPhone it’s pretty sweet. Also left 4 dead is frickin awesome! Expert can be really hard ifyour team sucks. I am writing this on my phone to see how good it’s auto correct works. So far I am pretty impressed actually.

Unit One

I finished assemblling my first unit, the proud high elf spearmen. I have been distracted for a while by other things, and as such I only have 2 painted and a third base coated. I am holding off on painting until I visit Games-Workshop and get some different colors. I think i’ll also change the shields to a light blue instead of red. Here are the pictures.

Sorry the pictures are a bit sloppily done, and there arent many, the camera died after the second shot and I was hurrying trying to get as many as I could. Also submit any names you may have for this unit, psuedo Warhammer Universe please.

On painting the figurines

Some of my feedback on the model was on how it looked sloppy, but remember these characters are about 30mm tall, and look much better in person. Once i have more completed I’ll post some group shots to give a better feel of their scale.

On the painting front I just finished my second model, He’s pretty much a cleaner version of the first with a different breastplate and pose. I plan to post pics of him soon.

Lifeguarding

I work as a lifeguard, and as such I work with many small children, about half of which either don’t speak English, or act like they don’t so they can break the rules.

I enjoy my job, as it is relatively easy, you watch the pool, control the kids, make sure no one gets hurt… All while getting a tan, at least theoretically (I’m pretty much permanently white). But by far the worst part of the job is trying to keep the kids and parents in line during safety breaks, or any other form of clearing the pool. And the slide… kids will not listen to you on the slide in any way shape or form. But the pay isn’t bad, and the hours are flexible so its a good summer job, and it helps fund my addiction to games and Warhammer.

About Warhammer

Warhammer is a game where you put together and paint small models with as much detail as you care to attempt. Then you pit them against each other in epic turn based warfare. Very tactical, very expensive, and very time consuming, all hallmarks of a great new hobby.

As you can see it is my newest hobby, and one I plan to keep for a long time. I just purchased the High Elf Army set and as such have a ton of figures to assemble and paint, many of which will hopefully end up on here.

Current Activities

Lately i’ve gotten a new computer and thusly forgot about this blog in the transfer. It’s a nice laptop… better than my desktop.  Anyways i’ve been watching some good movies, playing some good games, and messing around with vectoring with Illustrator. Pretty fun stuff in general. Exam week is here already… one down three to go. Plan on getting Lost Odyssey tomorrow/today. Can’t wait, looks pretty. More later.
